Hello everyone, I am new here. I am in a marriage that I am very unhappy in. I don't know how to tell her that I want a divorce. If I were to write everything on paper I should be the perfect happy person and I am not. I believe that most things are there but the connection. That connection has been missing for some time now. The other thing is that I have cheated on her and although I feel bad about it I only feel bad that I did not break things up between us prior to meeting someone. The problem is you just don't know when you are going to meet that someone. I guess I am just afraid of hurting her but I guess that I have already done that I just haven't told her yet. I tried sticking my head in the sand and bearing through the marriage but every once in awhile you meet someone who ignites you and you just can't help it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Mike

First off, stop the relationship outside the marriage until you are at least separated. It will only complicate things.

I am assuming that you have given this some thought and there is no chance you want to work at this marriage.

Get some legal advice first. This way you'll know what's involved and where you stand (though this should not sway your decision). As far as telling her, there is NO easy way to drop the bomb, just come out and tell her. Don't tell her when you're on your way out to work - be considerate of timing.
