Any ideas any one could share ( maybe thier experiences ) as to the best nicest way to break the news to your spouse that you want a divorce ?

I am ready to call it quits after numerous attempts to save it. Its hopeless. I give up but I don't want to sound brutal either. I want to keep this as civil as possible.

Any ideas ?

Thank you,
Maria

You just have to be honest sit down and just say that it isn't working. Unofrutnatly for me my husband was to much of a chicken as$ to tell me. I got called into the cop station after they found him with a prostitue (or so they thought turned out to be my yonger sister) and told me in front of the cops and everyone ect that he wanted a divorce. The most humiliating thing I have ever had happen to me!

So I sugest just sitting down and being honest!

Hi Tammy, Thanks for the reply and advice. Yes I guess thats probably the best way. I know he fears losing me and I just wanted to let him down easy.

BTW, what on earth are all these marketing/sales postings doing here ? I'm not saying you posted them Tammy at all, but I thought the board moderators are suppose to delete and stop such postings...

Honestly hun, I don't think there is anyway of letting him down easy. It depends on so many factors. How old are you, how long have you been married ect?

It hurt so much when my ex left me. It broke my heart he left me with one child, I was barley and adult myself. Because of this I have NEVER dated again I couldn't bare the thought of another man hurting me.

Also yes I HATE spam!! If you ever see any send me a PM and I will delete it asap!!

i don't think there actually is a best way to ask for it. there might be less confrontational ways though

Honesty is the best way in all cases but then you have to be careful not making him depressive. You have to be gentle about it. Tell him that he’s not at fault and that he needs someone better suited for him and all. I don’t know but I guess it depends on the situation also. You say that he fears losing you. So, I guess he loves you, is there no way that you relationship can survive?
