Was wondering if anyone knew the statistics for divorce rates in America and worldwide. It seems that more and more poeple are geting divorced.

Found some good info on divorce rates

2. RAW NUMBERS. The Center has released total state and regional marriage and divorce numbers (not the same thing as rates) for the years 2000, 1999 and 1998.
The total numbers of U.S. divorces (excluding the non-counting states) reported finalized annually are 957,200 in 2000, 944,317 in 1999, and 947,384 in 1998.
The total numbers of U.S. marriages (including those states) reported celebrated annually are 2,355,005 in 2000, 2,366,623 in 1999, and 2,267,854 in 1998.

The US has the world's highest divorce rate, bar none--twice as high as the next highest country (Sweden) and 50 times higher than some countries.

Here is a good site that shows you the whole of USA and also lets you pick specific states. Seems Americans are divorce crazy...

Well the rates are quite astonishing can anyone say which is the reason for which most of couples get divorced ?

Well... I don't know... Maybe cause we have the possibilty to divorce now when we couldn't before??
Maybe it's because of this?

Well maybe jen, but there are loads of other reasons..we can't say it's most for a specific reason because there are many factors to take into consideration..maybe the mentality of people change!!
