My girlfriend and I have been dating about a year. We went to seperate colleges and were pretty set that we wanted to be together. Recently though, I found out she has been hanging out with this guy we will call X. They havn't done anything it's just a big group of them that are friends but X really likes her, and my girlfriend doesn't know he she feels about him. On the other hand she knows what she has with me and says she wants to forget about him and be with me and only me. She says maybe shes acting like this because she hasn't seen me in a while. But I know when she does, she will remember. We will see eachother again on Thanksgiving, and we will see eachother a bunch after that, so its really only this time before...from the end of summer to the start of school...She has talked to X and said that she loves me and nothing can happen, but I know theres still a good possibility because he goes to the same school. He said he understood. I talked to X and didn't get very far, so i figured that he can still do something. I know if she did it would be a mistake. I think its because she hasn't seen me, and i told her to remember the memories we have by looking at pictures and she does, and she says she loves me...and i believe it, but i know something still might happen....I don't know what to do, I'm confused, What should I do?

Hi you. WISH you a warm welcome on this forum!

We are all ready to help you out. So you don't see each other very often (your gf and you), then there's that guy she met at school and that she sees everyday is it? She feels lost in her feelings, have I well understood? But the feelings both have for each other seem to be present although there's love between you and your gf, am I still right?
Well, first of all, do you trust her?

Hi mate! concerning your problem i think that this is some kind of a normal thing to feel fear since you don't see each other constantly... BUT if nothing ever happened before i don't really see why your GF couldn't hang around guys and all... She is in college and that is a normal thing. On the other hand, if you don't trust the guy then tell her about that... and explain the most clearly possible why you don't trust the guys... If she loves you she'll understand...

BTW, when the birthday? will you be throwing a party? we might sneak in LOL!!!

That's a nice thing! Congrats and happy birthday to her! Well, since there's nothing between them, I don't think anything like talking to him or her, or trying to put distance between them etc. will work. Actually, right now, what you need most is patience, sometimes feelings, or simple attraction for someone else than your partner happens. But if you know she loves you for real, and you have genuine feelings too, there should be no problem. You look very patient anyway, don't put pressure on her, things should be alright soon. Well, I really wish so!

yeah but i feel like she could have feelings towards him, i always thought that if i had an attraction to someone i could get over it because i just think of the time when i would get to see her, i dont think that she gets that once she sees me it could clear her whole mind

If you're really sure you can trust her, well there's no point stressing about things like that. You're both still young and torturing yourself because of matters like that is a loss of time ...

Yeah exactly. If you fear that something happens, then you don't have complete trust in her. Surely you'll tell me the one who you don't trust is mostly the guy! But I don't believe in that! Whether the guy's not worth any trust, or not, is not the issue. Actually the guy does not even need your trust or whatever. So whether he tries something or not with your girl, and if your girl is trust-worthy, you don't have to stress as Capuccino says.
