Delirium tremens occurs usually some time after a person stops drinking. It's the period where he can't handle the lack of alcohol in his body. Sometimes, it even happens that he hallucinates and become violent. What kind of info do you need tornado, everything? lol

So you drink a lot, Nomorelies? I don't like alcohol very much.

Delirium tremens is what you also call the DTs, "the horrors", "the shakes" or "rum fits". You can have it after a rapid decrease in amount of alcohol being consumed by heavy drinkers. It only occurs in persons with constant, long-term alcohol drinking habits. It normally manifests about 18 to 24 hours after discontinuation of alcohol consumption but can appear on second or third day of non-drinking.

lol. Inifinite Dreams, it's most common if you've got a long history of ethanol use, a big big drinker in other words. Are you, if I may ask?

Nomorelies and infinitedreams, i think it's time for both of you to stop talking nonsense before everyone think you need to go to the asylum. The only thing that is affected with you both is the brain.

What exactly causes delirium?

When there is a lack of oxygen to the brain, poisoning, including consumption of alcohol, consumption of weed, taking antidepressants, electrolyte disturbances, acid discturbances, infections, pneumonia, thyroid problems, heart failure, kidney failure, liver failure and anaemia.
