I am the child of divorced parents myself.
I admit i grew up wanting nothing more than to please everyone.
i ended up been the mediator between two parents and finding myself in situations when i was trying to protect both people, specially my dad who was addicted to gambling, and may be not making the best choices!
But what can i do?
Sometimes, i wanted to be the bad girl and gamble too.......but ultimately, i could never really pull that off!

You should try to forget your past and you must now that it was not your fault that this thing happened. You are not to be blame. It is good to see that you are not involved in gambling, keep it up as you already know the consequences of gambling.

The fact that you come from a divorced parents, unfortunately this might stay for an entire life until gradually you will be able to overcome this event completely.

Relax ! you don't need to be a bad girl.

If she has to forget the past, she must forget that she has a dad and a mum.

@ Sloane, it's hard, but i've been there as well and i fought against all the pain that lived inside of me. Well, it still causes a lot of sadness deep within yourself sometimes, but you're used to it. Just let your parents solve their problems by themselves coz they know what they want to do. Even if you rebel, that won't change anything.

You should try to forget the fact that you came from a divorced family. You should try to go and see a counsellor if you are unable to get rid of these thoughts because this will always hinder you in future life.
There is no way you will go forward in life if you keep this kind of thinking.

you have to stop making yourself guilty for what happened. you were not at fault. there are things in life we cannot control and what has to happen will eventually happen however strongly we try to stop it from happening. but the ultimate thing is that you have to move on and think about you. its no use of regretting like that. move on and find new scopes for you and dont repeat what your parents have done.

Hello Sloane, do you have any plan or how to proceed to protect your dad. It's is quite hard, he is a gambler. And you will not sort out the problem by acting as a gambler yourself. Think about it ! how would this help !

Why do you want to be a bad girl?Lamia is right,if you gamble too,how will it help? You must try even if it is hard to help you dad...you must tell him that he is a bad example for you and that if he continues like that you will start to gamble too!!!

Poor you! Things have not been easy for you. I wonder whether you thought of the positive side of what you have been through. Tomorrow when you gonna be a wife/ mother - you'll gonna be a better wife/mother. You'll do everything so that your child doesnt go through what you have been through. Be strong - we all face ups and downs, but life is worth it!

You should not let others make what you are. If you want gambling for fun, make sure you don’t end up being addicted to it. I’m sad for you as I’m sure it must not have been easy for you since the beginning. But you have to tell your parents about how you feel. I’m sure they want what is best for you and would be sad to know how you feel.
