My friend was so eager to break up with her boyfriend because she found a new guy. But to her surprise when they saw each other, it was her boyfriend broke up with her. She was so pissed off. Why did she feel this way? Shouldn't she be relieved that they both felt it was time to move on?

i think her ego got hurt that's why!! . She would have felt better if it was her her who broke up...it happens. You feel more relieved when it's you who break up first, While the other one is sufferng and keeping on wondering why you did so, what happened, what he/she did to you for you to behave like this...etc

I agree. When we are hurt sometimes we are selfish enough to wish it was us who hurt the person than he or she hurt us.

She's just pissed it was him who broke up with her and not the other way around. I guess it's her pride that was hurt.

Freon is right.it is her pride that got this blow.She would have feel a lot better if it was her who break up first.
Anyway she should be happy as she is now free to do whatever she wants of her life.
