This friend of mine was doing so well on his job. But when he met his girlfriend, he just let his job slide. While he did it well enough, he never went for bigger opportunities anymore. He was contented with his life as it is. Is he doing the right thing?

well, it's his choice...he may want to do a bit less to be able to give more attention to his girlfriend...but he mustn't let his relationship ruin his career too...

Hi cicada26.Hope that you are fine.I think that it is perfectly normal for someone to neglect a little his job just to have time for the person that he loves.It is never easy to balance professional life and emotional life adequately.
If it is not affecting his career too much I think that there is no problem.
