Hi, I am 35 year old woman who has been divorced since quite some time. Although, my ex pays me directly, but the problem is that he always bounces the child support checks. Thus, by the time I get paid it is always another 30 days or so. What can I do in this situation that I am ? :)

Arrow Bouncing of the checks
Usually, the law allows for a remuneration maintenance when the child support payments are behind 30 days or more. Since, child support payments would then be taken directly from your ex's pay eliminate the need for him or her to pay you directly. Also, your ex must be aware that it is a crime to bounce checks. You can think about taking criminal action by reporting the bad check to your local police department if he continues doing so.

Well said. I assume he is doing this on purpose, so writing checks that bounce repeatatly is against the law i believe

Hi Tina,
I think Sabrina and Trev are quite right. Your Ex may be doing this intentionally to harass you. I will too suggest you to complain regarding it to the court. As sabrina has mentioned that youe ex have to pay extra charges if his check are bouncing on regular basis.
Hopefully after that your problem will get solved. I will suggest you to consult a lawyer.

Default Legal Action regarding Bouncing of Cheques
I too agree with your view nick.
One of my friends suffers from same problem. After divorce, court has ordered her ex to pay child support. Generally checks given by her ex hubby gets bounced. She has tolerated this for few months, after that she has lodged a complaint against it. Court has ordered her ex spouse to pay compensation and not only this the bouncing problem solve from that day.
I hope that u will too get justice.
