Seeing I was the one that caused my marriage to fail and realize that now and am hoping I get one last chance, I would like to think that the trust can be earned once again. Granted it would take a lot of time and me jumping through a number of hoops and proving myself, but I think if the love is there and both parties are open and willing to give it one last try, then I think regaining the trust is a possibility. Maybe not at the same level as before as the memories of what broke the trust in the first place will always be there, but enough to make the relationship as rewarding if not moreso than before.
And I don't buy into "once a cheater, always a cheater". People change and sometimes for the better. |

Personally, I believe once trust is gone all else is gone. Can there be trust again? Perhaps, my views are not positive on the subject because I've "BEEN THERE DONE THAT" with the whole "I'll never do it again" bit. What it really boils down to is why he felt he needed to cheat in the first place? Until you get to that bottom line the cheating will continue ... if not right away eventually.

A cheater may make the decision to never physically and actually cheat again, but deep down in their black heart, they still really want to bone other people. Its like an alcoholic...once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic. An alcoholic may never EVER let liquor touch their lips ever again, but they still really want a swig now and then. |
