Usually, in fights with my boyfriend it gets more and more heated and then we get to a stage where we're like: Pff. Why do I bother? You don't listen you don't this, etc. We start gnit-picking and eventually one or the other of us suggests a "break" or breaking up. I've never actually wanted to break up with my boyfriend, but I have said before that I'm never coming back, and it seems like every time we have one of these "break ups" that it might actually be the last one... I just don't know what is a real break up and what isn't. I'd say the real break up is when they truly don't come back, but then how do you know they won't?

well its my belief that all couples have disagreements, its only natural. You dont always have to agree on everything, you both are entitled to your own opinions. As long has after the fight yous both still feel love for each other, then i think everything is gonna be fine.

Surly you have broken up when the words really echo your feeling and you do want to split up rather than not wanting that

hmm thats an un-usual arguement. Obviously if you guys get back together then you havent broken up. I would reccomend going to councelling so you guys understand that hurting each other isnt going to solve your problems.

I agree with you. Only when you no longer love eachother after the fights - truly love eachother.. not just the hating in the moment, do I think a relationship is failing.

It's a bit weird isn't it? I don't really understand it personally... but I don't think you need a counsellor to tell them that hurting eachother isn't going to solve things. :P

Yeah. If one of you doesn't come back, then the break up is final. Sometimes even if the love is still there, the parties just give up on it or just had enough of the fighting and breaking up cycle.

YOu've broken up if you don't make up anymore. You cut all communications and do not have an intimate relations anymore.

If you really mean to break up with your partner and don't get back together with him, I think you really did break up. He cannot force you to go back to him and continue the relationship.
