At age 11, on my birthday (great timing), after a fight between my sister and my mother, I was told that my sister is my half-sis. Now, this totally shattered me. At that point in time I just wanted to die. I love my sister with all my heart, I really do.. but to be told that, especially when I went through all of my life in misery talking about how Jen was so different than me and saying she's not my real sister (this was before I knew), and then to find out I was just being lied to all my life? I wish I'd been told sooner.

What does it matter, if you love her you love her! And you shoudlnt say those things to her she is the "half-sis" and I am sure she is hurting more than you...kids can be so mean to each other and I think its what the see when they are being raised.

I know what you mean here, I'm in the same situation with my sister. I love her to death and she's my half-sis :)

Think of it this way, you got off better than alot of people, you did not have to go through any traumatic divorce etc. Compared to this a lie doesn't seem to bad?

Not all divorces are traumatic.. And yes, compared it doesn't seem that bad, but I personally don't believe in lying so I can see where she's coming from.

i dont think it was a lie, they waited until you were old enough to understand the fact that your sister is your half sister. So what, she doesnt have the same blood as you, she came from the same mother did she not? It shouldnt change your love for her.

Well if you love your sister then thats all, nothing should come in way between you not even her being your "half-sis".Just think of her,she would be in great Panic because she is "half-sis" of a brother who loves her more then anything...
You should accept the truth and forget all about it and just continue your life as it has been always.

I know as a kid how big a shock it would be for you to know that your sister is not yours. But I think, by now you must have come to terms. Life is about accepting the facts and living with it. Knowing the truth, should not have lessened the love that you had for ur sis.

I know you felt bad about the things you said but it really wasn't your fault because you didn't know. Just continue showing your half sister that you love her so much. She may know you really didn't meant what you said. It's just what kids sometimes do, say mean things when they are having tantrums.
