maybe he was joking, i find it hard to bielieve that two people would think of getting married without knowing each others phone numbers.

Personally, that's amusing. He could have been joking.. and maybe that's what they understand - the joke. I would've probably said something similar. My partner I'm with -knows- that if he buys me a gold ring to ask me to marry him, that I'll say no... I love silver and platinum - not gold!

Maybe he was just joking? If not, then he sounds pretty lame... Have you told your friend how you feel about this? Be there for her if this has really upset -her.- If it upsets other people, it's not that big of a deal per sé because it's not your relationship, but still...
